Avocados are extremely nutritious and delicious. They contain 14 minerals, 11 vitamins and a high percentage of protein for fruit. (Avocado is a fruit although we tend to eat it as a vegetable.)
Although avocados do contain fats, they are good fats which are easy to digest and contain essential fatty acids which help the hormonal system function and can actually help your metabolism to achieve your perfect weight despite the myth that avos are ‘fattening’ and ‘full of cholesterol”.
Let’s get one thing straight as you move forward this week, there is not one single fruit or vegetable that is able to manufacture cholesterol – this process can only be done by animals that have a liver. No plants have a liver. So don’t be scared to eat avocados. Fats are needed by the body. Make sure its the right kind of fats contained in fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds and cold pressed oils.
