100 Days to Health - Day 025 | Apples

Week 4 –  Day 25 Apples

Tip for the Day

Apples are an excellent source of pectin, a water-soluble finer that helps protect you from heart disease as it helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure. It also stabilises blood sugar, keeping your appetite under control.

Antioxidants-AppleApple juice has been found to be antiviral and antibacterial  and contains chlorgenic acid, which is believed to prevent cancer from a cellular level.

Ginger helps with nausea, thins blood, lowers blood cholesterol, and has been shown to prevent cancer.

Pears are high in potassium and magnesium, both nutrients that help you relax and are highly alkaline.

Pineapples contains an enzyme called bromine that aids digestion. It is high in Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant known to boost the immune system and slow down ageing.

Parsley is part of the green leafy family and very high in chlorophyll, which is known to improve immune function.

Recipe for the Day

Green Booster

4 big green apples

1/2 pineapple

3 pears

1 lemon

1 large piece of ginger

Big bunch of parsley

Extract the juice of the ingredients above and serve chilled with ice. Get creative with some variations – You can swap the fruit out with tomatoes if your prefer savoury, if you prefer sweet,  leave the parsley out and add strawberries.
