Week 7 – Day 45

Tip for the Day

All raw and cooked vegetables are alkaline in your bloodstream (even lemons and tomatoes). So eat as much as you like!

Vegetables make great snacks at anytime of the day. Always start with at least a side plate of raw salad or raw vegetables before your cooked meal. After the ‘raw’, there is no restriction.

If you hate vegetables, find one raw vegetable or salad you can eat like cucumber or tomato and make sure you eat enough to fill a small plate. If you prefer, you can eat fresh raw fruit instead of vegetables. Just bear in mind that fresh fruit digests better on an empty stomach.

Recipe for the Day

Melissa’s Corn chowder

1 potato diced

1 sweet potato diced

1 Large carrot diced

8 corn cut off the cob or 2 cups frozen corn

3 large spring onion or leeks finely sliced

2 Tbsp. Mary-Ann’s veg stock

1 tsp. Mary-Ann’s Garlic & Herb salt

Mary-Ann’s herb salt to taste

2 litres of water.

Add all ingredients to a large pot and bring to the boil simmering gently for about 1 hour. Blend partially so that some corn is still whole.

(You can dry stir-fry the leeks before adding the other ingredients)
